After graduating from the University of Queensland Medical School,Dr Stephen Godfrey had seven years of invaluable and enjoyable general practice as a country Medical Superintendent, working predominantly in the central west of Queensland. After returning to Brisbane to complete his ophthalmology specialist training under the Queensland Training Scheme, Dr Godfrey was very fortunate to gain the opportunity of working for 18 months at Taunton Hospital in Somerset, England. There, he completed his general ophthalmological training in all major sub-specialty areas. Dr Godfrey joined The Eye Centre in 1999 where he practices to this day at Southport, Robina and Coolangatta. Dr Stephen Godfrey has been involved over the past eight years in training the registrars at the Gold Coast Hospital. Dr Godfrey is involved with the Wuchopperen Aboriginal Eye Service in remote North Queensland. He has lectured both in Australia and overseas. Dr Godfrey specialises in cataract, refractive and ocular plastics. |
