Dr Jai Panchapakesan is a Queensland based Australian ophthalmic surgeon.
Dr Jai was one of the first eye surgeons in Queensland to use Intralase, a blade free technology, and has used many different LASIK treatment lasers, as well as operating both with blade cuts and Intralase treatments. In addition, he performs PRK as well as the insertion of intra-ocular lens implants to improve vision. After growing up in Sydney and graduating with a medical degree from The University of Sydney, Dr Jai undertook specialty training in ophthalmic surgery at the prestigious Sydney Eye Hospital. Simultaneously, he completed a PhD investigating the incidence of cataract and lens implant surgery (and is one of the foremost Australian experts on this topic). He then worked with a specialist in cornea disease before completing a fellowship in laser vision correction in Brisbane. Dr Jai has published numerous papers in respected journals, and has lectured on LASIK nationally and internationally. He is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and both the Australian and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Â |
